Design Philosophy
GRASP was started after I began to struggle with playing numerous periods of tabletop wargaming with numerous sets of rules. Although there are several systems using common mechanics for several periods, I couldn't find a coherent system that would allow realistic results for all periods, all genres, and all scales.
So I designed GRASP by identifying the core factors in any conflict, at any scale, whether between individuals or empires. Despite some abstraction around time and distance inherent in almost every system I wanted a rule system flexible enough to encompass any weapon / defence system to be represented.
